“The point is that he deliberately disobeyed me,” Brian spat, doing his best to control his rage. “I specifically told him that being a single parent was unacceptable, and that I would authorise any amount needed to get Jane to take the child and sequester herself away, and he could go back to his normal life. I thought it perfectly reasonable!”
