Welcome to WriteIt!

We are pleased to welcome you to WriteIt, a writing community found on Dreamwidth. In this community, you will find daily prompts, weekly prompts, seasonal prompts, and a selection of prompt tables to choose from for our yearly challenge. Feel free to participate as much or as little as you want, we want this to be a community that makes writing fun, not a community that makes writing obligatory.

Description

Write It! Is a prompt challenge community focused on inspiring writers to write more through friendly, low pressure competition and engagement with other writers.

How It Works

Members of the community are divided up into two teams and compete in three month, seasonal phases. Prompts are posted daily, weekly, monthly, and for the phase, plus an additional yearly challenge. Completion of prompts adds points to your team’s score, and the team with the highest score at the end of the phase will be crowned the winner and receive that phase’s prize!

Apologies for the delay in posting this.

The posts that are currently on the community will be available indefinitely for you to fill at your leisure. Shortly, we are going to debut the new iteration of WriteIt. We are going to be transitioning from a journal based community on dreamwidth to a more organic group on discord. When we are ready to debut our discord we will post it here, Fall Into Fall, and the existent write it discord.

Regarding Fall into Fall, we apologize for our delay in contacting the winner. We will do so within the next month.

We will be revealing the future for WriteIt within the next two weeks. It will still continue, just with some changes! Until all the tweaks are worked out we are extending amnesty. Apologies for the delay in doing so.

Hi everyone,

scarletcorvid and I just wanted to make an announcement that we are going on a 7-14 day hiatus as of Saturday in order to retool the community for the new year. During this time feel free to respond to old prompts that you might have missed filling while they were inactive. We will see you on January 15th at the latest. The comm will be continuing of course but with some adjustments. Looking forward to sharing those with you all.
